Designated Supportive Living

At Christenson Communities, your health and comfort is our number one priority.

Our Supportive Living program is unlike any other because when you join our community, we will tailor your healthcare program to meet your specific needs — even as they change.

The supportive living option allows you to maintain a comfortable lifestyle while receiving health support. Whether it’s a reminder to take your medication or draw your bath, you’ll enjoy the peace of mind that comes from knowing that support is available whenever you need it.

The Christenson Advantage…

AHS Designated Supportive Living

Designated Supportive Living is an AHS program which provides care and supportive services to residents in their own studio home.
Residents are required to pay a monthly Accommodation Charge which includes rent on their studio home, daily meals, weekly housekeeping, laundry and some recreational services.

AHS pays the care and supportive service for each resident directly to the Designated Supportive Living care operator (Christenson Communities).

Occupancy is given on a priority basis in each region in Alberta after assessment by an AHS Home Care case coordinator.

Christenson Communities

Comfort First© Memory Care

Here, life is in the moment.

Christenson Communities’ Comfort First program offers an activity-rich environment – with a focus on exercise and wellness, music and the arts, reminiscing activities and more.

By encouraging our residents’ unique abilities, and respecting their personal preferences, we employ a resident centered based philosophy of care that emphasizes dignity.

We encourage meaningful participation in daily activities to create pleasant moments.

Recognizing that little things make a big difference to those with memory loss, our specially selected and carefully trained health care staff take the time to create nurturing bonds that goes beyond caregiving.

Our Comfort First program features beautifully appointed secure environments that are specifically designed to lessen the stresses of everyday life and provide the therapeutic surroundings necessary to enable a person with memory loss, Alzheimer’s or dementia to remain as independent and engaged as possible.
